Our PRINCE2 Practitioner course is a live online programme for professionals who want to apply PRINCE2 in practical settings. It is designed for people who already hold an accepted project management qualification and want to build advanced project management skills, prepare for the Practitioner exam, and progress their careers.

PRINCE2 is a globally recognised project management method trusted by professionals in more than 200 countries. It gives organisations a structured but flexible way to plan, control, and deliver work across varied project environments.

The PRINCE2 Project Management Practitioner course builds on Foundation-level knowledge, with a clear focus on practical application. You will learn how to apply and tailor the seven principles, practices, processes, and people management guidance to a specific project scenario.

The course covers project controls, communication, risk, the business case, and decision-making. It develops the practical skills you need to manage projects, lead projects, improve project performance, and support stronger project outcomes.

Across two days, you will take part in three trainer-led workshops with interactive exercises, real world scenarios, and mock exams. The sessions connect the method with day-to-day project delivery and help you use PRINCE2 with maximum effectiveness.

The course includes live Practitioner training, your online exam, a digital official manual, the PRINCE2 Project Management process map, tutor support, a mandatory online pre-course, and Exam Pass Guarantee*. Your exam is included, so you do not need to buy a separate exam voucher.

This course is perfect for:

  • A current Project Manager who wants to apply PRINCE2 in practical settings

  • Professionals progressing from Foundation to Practitioner level

  • People who hold another accepted professional qualification

  • Project support professionals moving into roles with more responsibility

  • Business Analysts, Team Managers, and Team Leaders involved in delivering projects

  • Aspiring Project Managers who want to strengthen their project management skills

  • Professionals who need to manage risks and maintain stronger controls

  • Teams that want a consistent best practice approach to managing successful projects

  • Organisations seeking a common method for delivering successful projects

Group enrolments benefit organisations and learners by giving colleagues shared terminology, controls, roles, and reporting methods. This can support clearer communication when several people work across the same projects.

PRINCE2 can also support wider career opportunities in sectors such as IT, construction, finance, telecommunications, manufacturing, and the public sector.

Entry requirements

You must hold a valid PRINCE2 Project Management Foundation certificate or another accepted project management qualification. Equivalent qualifications are accepted, so you do not always need to take the PRINCE2 Foundation exam before enrolling.

  • PRINCE2 Project Management Foundation or Practitioner, Version 6

  • APM Project Management Qualification, also known as PMQ

  • APM Project Professional Qualification, also known as PPQ

  • Project Management Professional, also known as PMP®

  • Certified Associate in Project Management, also known as CAPM®

PRINCE2® Frequently Asked Questions

What does the PRINCE2 Practitioner course cover?

It builds on Foundation-level knowledge and focuses on practical application. You will learn to apply and tailor the principles, people guidance, practices, and processes to project scenarios.

How does the course develop advanced project management skills?

You will work through three live workshops, guided discussions, interactive exercises, and realistic scenarios. These activities strengthen your skills in controls, risk, communication, governance, and tailoring.

Is PRINCE2 recognised internationally?

Yes. PRINCE2 is a globally recognised project management method trusted by professionals in more than 200 countries.

What certification do I need before taking the exam?

You need PRINCE2 Foundation or another accepted qualification, including APM PMQ, APM PPQ, PMP®, CAPM®, or IPMA Levels A to D. You cannot sit the Practitioner exam without meeting one of these routes.

Are there age, literacy, or numeracy requirements?

Good literacy and numeracy skills are important because the course and exam use detailed written scenarios and basic project information. The approved course information does not state that candidates must be over 18, so learners under 18 should contact e-Careers before enrolling.

What is the difference between Foundation and Practitioner?

Foundation confirms that you understand the method. PRINCE2 Practitioner confirms that you can apply and tailor it to a scenario. This project management practitioner version therefore focuses on judgement rather than recall alone.

Can I study at my own pace?

The main training is scheduled and trainer-led. You study online, but you attend live sessions over two days.

Learners who prefer self-paced online courses and bite-sized lessons should consider the separate eLearning option, which takes approximately 20 hours and provides 12 months of access.

Should I take a combined course?

A combined option may suit you if you need a complete learning journey from Foundation knowledge to Practitioner application. This standalone course is more suitable if you already meet the entry requirements.

What career benefits can PRINCE2 provide?

A 2020 survey reported that 88% of Project Managers with a PRINCE2 qualification believed it had helped their careers. A UK survey published by PeopleCert in 2025 found that 68% believed PRINCE2 had improved their employability.

These figures indicate possible career value, but no qualification can guarantee a job, promotion, or salary increase.

What salary could I earn in project management?

Entry-level project management salaries can start at around £29,000. Mid-level Project Managers may earn around £49,000 to £50,000, while Senior Project Manager roles can pay more than £60,000.

Salary depends on your experience, location, sector, responsibilities, and wider qualifications.

Are exam results emailed within a few days?

You receive a preliminary result after finishing the open-book exam. Official results are normally available in your PeopleCert account within two business days, and you may also receive an email notification.

Does the certification expire?

Yes. You must renew your certification within three years of the award date to keep it current.

What is the Exam Pass Guarantee?

If you do not pass after completing an eligible Virtual Classroom course, you may be able to retake the same training free of charge. Conditions apply, and exam fees are not covered.

Will this course offer good value?

The course combines live tuition, accredited materials, the exam, tutor support, mock exam preparation, and flexible payment options. Our aim is for you to finish feeling confident in your decision and like a very happy customer.
