This course shows you how to apply PRINCE2 Project Management in context. You will learn how to tailor the method while keeping work controlled, justified, and focused on outcomes.

The syllabus explains the relevant aspects of the principles, practices, and processes. It then shows how they connect, moving from core knowledge to scenario-based decisions and practical tailoring.

Module 1: Practitioner exam overview

This module introduces the exam format and explains how scenario-based multiple-choice objective testing works.

Module 8: Tailoring PRINCE2 to project needs

This module brings the course together by showing you how to adapt the method without weakening its structure.

• Understand how tailoring affects practices and processes
• Recognise which elements must remain in place

These modules move from exam preparation and core concepts to practical decisions. Older Version 6 resources may use previous terms, so use the current Version 7 manual when preparing for the assessment.

This progression helps you connect each topic before applying the whole method in context.

The live Virtual Classroom course takes two days. You will attend scheduled sessions with an expert trainer, discuss practical examples, and apply PRINCE2 to realistic situations.

You must also complete a mandatory online pre-course before the live sessions begin. The course includes your exam, digital manual, process map, tutor support, and Exam Pass Guarantee*. You have 12 months from the purchase date to take the exam.

The exam assesses whether you can apply and tailor PRINCE2 in a practical setting. Passing it shows that you can use the method beyond Foundation-level recall.

• Pass mark: 42 out of 70, or 60%
• Duration: 150 minutes, or two hours and 30 minutes

You normally receive a preliminary result when the exam ends. Official results are issued through your PeopleCert account within two business days, although they may take longer if further checks are needed.

After successful completion, you will earn the PRINCE2 Project Management Practitioner certification. You must renew it within three years of the award date to keep it current.
