This is done through the Personal Learning Account Programme
LCWG

A Personal Learning Account will allow you to study part-time around your existing responsibilities. It will allow you to get the skills and qualifications you need to change your career or progress in your current role.

LCWG You'll be able to get new skills and qualifications that local employers are looking for now and therefore help boost your existing career or begin a new one.

How to be Eligible for FREE Funding

To be eligible for these FREE courses and qualifications, you simply need to satisfy the following criteria:

  • Individuals must:
    Reside in Wales Want to gain skills/ qualifications in priority sectors Be aged 19 years old or over
  • In addition, Individuals must meet at least one of the following criteria:
    Employed (including self-employed) and earning under the median income £32,371*(Digital, Net-Zero and Tata courses will have no salary cap for 2024/25) Workers on zero hours contracts Agency staff Offenders on day release In addition, full-time carers (paid or non-paid) may be offered PLA funded provision where there is capacity on existing courses (i.e. infill)
  • You won't be eligible if when you apply you are:
    Under the age of 19; or Attending further or higher education on a full time basis or In Welsh Government funded Work Based Learning An ineligible overseas national; or In receipt of an Assembly Learning Grant or Education Maintenance Allowance; or Unemployed (that you do not have a contract of employment)
