This qualification enables students to understand the role of a bookkeeper and carry out basic bookkeeping activities such as receipts, payments, income, expenditure, and profit and loss. It will set a foundation for the students and allow them to understand the benefits of the role and the risks associated with using software.

Format

AAT Level 1 Award in Bookkeeping has one objective-type test that is computer-based and assesses all component learning outcomes you have covered in the unit.

Bookkeeping Fundamentals - 90 minutes.

Availability

You can take your AAT assessments at any AAT test centre, but please note that assessment fees may vary by test centre. We'll provide you with all the support and resources you need to prepare for your exams.

You must become an AAT member to sit your AAT assessments. Your assessment fee and AAT student membership are not included in the price of your training.

Objective tests are computer-marked, so you'll receive your results within 48 hours via MyAAT.

What is the pass mark for AAT Bookkeeping Level 1?

The Pass mark for your AAT Bookkeeping Level 1 exam is 70% to 79%. You'll receive the Merit grade when your grade is between 80% and 89%. Achieving a grade above it will earn you a Distinction grade. You only need to obtain a pass mark in your exams to earn your AAT Level 1 Award in Bookkeeping.

This Level 1 Bookkeeping course takes approximately 1-2 months to complete. You have 3 months of course access, giving you plenty of time to complete the course. You can book your assessment after completing your unit.
